Aberdeen Lynx are delighted to confirm the return of 18-year-old forward Jaydn Baxter for his second season with the club.
Baxter made a big impact during his first season with the Lynx, recording an impressive 23 goals and 17 assists while also representing the club at U19 level.
The young forward grew in confidence as the season progressed, becoming an important part of the Lynx line-up. He finished the campaign as the team’s second-highest goalscorer and third-highest points scorer, an impressive return in his first season in Aberdeen.
Alongside his return to the Lynx, we can also confirm that Jaydn will continue his two-way arrangement with Dundee Stars for the new season, allowing him to continue his development and train within an Elite League environment while playing his SNL hockey with the Lynx.
Lynx Head Coach Jordan Leyden said:
“I’m really pleased to have Jaydn back. He was a massive part of the squad last season and came up big in some big games for us.
“He developed immensely as the season went on and, with him continuing on a two-way, I think he can take that extra step in his development.
“He finished third in our points scoring last season, but I can see him pushing to be right at the top by the end of this season as he takes that next step.”
Jaydn said:
“I’m really glad to be back on a two-way with both Aberdeen and Stars for a second season. Just like last year, it’s a great opportunity to play in Aberdeen with such a supportive fan base behind us, and I’m hoping we can bring some silverware home this year.
“Playing with Stars is also a fantastic opportunity to compete at such a high level, and I’m really grateful to be a part of it again.”
Still only 18, Jaydn has already shown what he can bring to the Lynx, and we’re looking forward to seeing him go from strength to strength.
