Last year, Jaydn was playing in the Scottish Under 19’s League with Dundee Stars Under 19’s and in 15 games, he scored 26 points, whilst also making 12 appearances for Dundee Rockets in the SNL, we he contributed four points.
Jaydn will be involved with the Stars throughout the season, starting with the preseason training camp where he will gain valuable experience and exposure to the professional game, whilst also being able to play regularly with the Lynx on a weekly basis.
LEYDEN ON BAXTER
Aberdeen Lynx Head Coach Jordan Leyden said:
“This is a fantastic opportunity for Jaydn and we’re really excited to see him take this next step. He’s a great young talent with huge potential, and this arrangement benefits everyone involved. It gives young players like Jaydn the chance to learn, challenge themselves, and grow their game while still contributing here in Aberdeen. We’re proud to play a role in his development.”
LEFEBVRE ON BAXTER
Stars Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach, Marc LeFebvre, added:
“Jaydn is another young kid from Dundee who is deserving of a chance. We have a lot of older Brits in our team and at some point we will have to replace these guys when they step away from hockey, so giving Jaydn and Rio Page a chance here to show us what they can do is important. When we have injuries and suspensions, we’ll be able to call these guys up when it doesn’t conflict with their parent clubs’ schedules. It’s really good to have both of them on board as part of our setup.”
BAXTER ON HIS FIRST TASTE OF PRO HOCKEY
After the deal was confirmed, Jaydn said:
“I am really excited for the opportunity to play with both the Stars and the Lynx, and I cannot wait for the season ahead. Playing for a club like the Lynx, with their history of success and filled with a great group of people, is something I am really looking forward to. Having come up through the Dundee Stars juniors and watched the Stars as a kid, I am grateful for the chance to be playing at the highest level in Dundee.”
