We would like to introduce the youngest member of this season’s SNL squad, Rory Wood. Rory is going to be our U19s netminder and also backup goalie for the Lynx SNL.
At just 16 years old he has been between the pipes for 4 years and has played for Moray Juniors our North Warriors and also Forres Mechanics U18s and definitely a young talent to keep your eyes on.
From Forres and an apprentice for Lynx Sponsor Masonry & Lime, Rory makes the long journey to Aberdeen for training sessions and games showing his commitment to the sport and the Lynx.
Rory said. “I’m really excited to have my first season of SNL & U19s with the Lynx. They are a great bunch of guys and I will be able to learn a lot from both Dale & Jesper. It’s going to be a busy season but I can’t wait to get started, and am grateful for them giving me this opportunity.”
Coach Jordan Leyden commented, “I’m really pleased to get Rory on board not only for the SNL but for the 19’s. He’s a young and exciting prospect and having the opportunity for game time at 19’s and being able to learn off of Dale and Jesper is great for the club and for Rory. I’m really excited to see his progress this year.”
