#17 D man Callum Smith re-signed with the Lynx for the 22/23 season.
With a successful 21 season as assistant captain, Callum’s commitment to the Lynx is commendable putting in the shifts on the ice and leading by example.
Callum said, “Looking back at last season we fell short where it mattered the most from clutching the top spot in the league to the final four in the playoffs. We know where we went wrong and that we need to play our hockey for all three periods.
Going into the 2022/23 season we’ve got the right guys to get some silverware, it’s just a case of we all have to turn up week in and week out. The core group is still here and it will be good to see what the new guys coming in will bring to the team.”
Coach Jordan Leyden commented, “Callum took another step up this year. Taking on the assistant captaincy role and also brought a real maturity to his game. With losing his D partner in Christian he’s adapted so well and created a great partnership with JP. It’s great to see a homegrown player turn in to such a staple in the squad.”
