We are delighted to announce that Aberdeen Lynx SNL team has a new Head Coach, Jordan Leyden.
Jordan has been a part of the team for 10 years and is one of the Lynx’s top scorers; clocking up an impressive 12 goals and 32 assists last season. Home grown Lynx talent, forward Jordan, has been an important member of the Lynx for many seasons as well as being a key part of the Playoff winning team in 2016.
Fans need not worry, as Jordan won’t be hanging up his skates anytime soon. He plans to return to the ice as player/coach as he takes up the reins to help build and develop the team.
Jordan said, “I’m looking forward to taking on the new challenge as head coach of the Lynx. I can’t thank Owen Reynolds and prior coaches enough. They have laid a solid foundation over the many years that I hope I can contribute to. Go Cats.”
Coach Reynolds, who also started with the Lynx as a player before moving over to coaching, has been a driving force of the Aberdeen team. Bringing many successes to the team, he has played a huge role in helping make ice hockey so popular in the North-East.

Needless to say I was disappointed with how my final season played out. We had assembled a strong team but were plagued by injury before hockey came to an unexpected and abrupt stop – which pretty much summed up our luck this year!”
“In the last 10 years, as both a player and coach, I’ve seen the Lynx go from league ‘also-rans’ to a competitive team with a massive following, which has been highly rewarding. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank teammates past and present for making it as much fun as it’s been and our incredible fans who have stuck by us in the good times and the bad.”
“I’ll still be heavily involved with our juniors as we look to develop our next generation of Lynx stars but will still be on hand to help Jordan as he makes the transition to player/coach. I think he’ll do a great job as coach and the club couldn’t ask for a better role model for our young players to look up to, in what will hopefully be an exciting new chapter for the Lynx.”
We can’t thank Coach Reynolds enough for his time and commitment to the SNL and we look forward to his continued support and commitment to our junior training.
