Juniors Belfast Trip

Juniors Belfast trip roundup.

Last weekend saw both our U12 + U14 teams travel almost 600 miles to take on Belfast juniors. It has been an exciting weekend for all the kids and parents. Giving an opportunity to spend some extended time with their hockey family bonding and building friendships.

On Saturday both teams skated out at Dundonald Ice Bowl with our U12s taking to the ice first with Coach Barry at the helm.
The kids got fired up and headed out on the ice with great enthusiasm.
Unfortunately a few early goals from Belfast set the tone for the rest of the game. This didn’t deter the young Lynx however, who came back fighting in the 3rd, pulling back 3 goals from Lennon Stephen, Austin Eng and Jadon Lawrie.
A late injury in the 3rd made us short on the bench when Shay Stephen took a hard fall on the ice following a clash. A trip to A+E confirmed Shay has 2 fractured ribs and will be out for at least a few weeks. However, we’re glad to report he made it to watch the elite game at night and was still singing on the bus home ⭐
Final Score: 12-3 Belfast
Man of Match: Oliwier Wieczorek 🏆
Puck of Power: Shay Stephen 🏒

Second up our U14s took to the ice after watching an exciting finish to the U12 game. Both U14 sides are suitably matched so the Lynx went in with a positive attitude.
Belfast took the lead in the 1st period going up 1 goal. Into the 2nd period and Belfast scored in the first 5 mintes. However, just a few mintes later the Lynx mounted a comeback with 2 goals in quick succession from David Hale and Logan Gordon to equalise and finish an exciting 2nd period 2-2.
Going into the 3rd period both sides were desperate for the win but Belfast were to gain the upper hand once more in a hard fought period with the Final score 4-2 to Belfast.
