Get ready for one of the most heartwarming events of the season! On Saturday, December 14th, during our Scottish Cup clash against the Dundee Rockets, we’re inviting you to take part in our Festive Teddy Toss. This is your chance to combine your love for hockey with the spirit of giving, helping make Christmas a little brighter for children in need.
What Is the Teddy Toss?
The Teddy Toss is a fun, festive tradition where fans throw new soft toys onto the ice after the first home goal of the game. These teddies are then collected and donated to support local children during the holiday season.
This year, the donated teddies will go to AberNecessities, a local charity dedicated to helping children in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire through their Believe in Christmas Campaign.
How to Take Part:
- Buy a new soft toy or teddy to donate.
- Wrap it in a plastic bag or cling film to keep it clean and dry.
- Bring it to the game and toss it onto the ice after the Lynx score their first home goal!
Our Mini Lynx players will collect the teddies for AberNecessities, ensuring they reach children in time for Christmas.

Why It Matters
Christmas is often called the most magical time of the year, but for many local children, it’s a difficult and uncertain season. 1 in 4 children in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire live in poverty, which can strip away the joy of Christmas morning.
Through their Believe in Christmas Campaign, AberNecessities creates bespoke Christmas Eve Boxes for the children they support. These special packages include cosy pyjamas, slipper socks, festive activities, storybooks, hot chocolate, treats, and even a present from Santa himself. By taking part in the Teddy Toss, or donating online, you’ll help add a touch of magic to their Christmas celebrations.
Additional Festive Fun
The Lynx Supporters Club will also be collecting food bank donations at the game, giving you another way to spread the holiday cheer.
