Last season, Aberdeen Lynx celebrated a monumental victory by clinching the Scottish National League title. As we gear up to defend our title and aim for greater glories, we’re excited to announce a significant addition to our ranks – John Dolan.
John is not just a player; he’s a hockey icon in Scotland. Boasting the title of all-time top points scorer for both the Dundee Stars and Dundee Comets, his list of achievements is extensive. With three SNL playoff titles in six seasons with the Comets and leading roles in winning the BNL and Elite League championships with the Stars, John’s record speaks for itself. In recent memory, he astounded fans by spearheading the Comets to a Scottish Cup and playoff double with a staggering 58 points last season.
His addition is not just about enhancing our team’s capabilities but strengthening our side in the pursuit of back-to-back titles and beyond. With the winning momentum from last season and John’s expertise, we are ready for the challenge.
Head coach, Jordan Leyden said, “When we heard John was possibly looking for a change we jumped at the chance. Someone of his quality and experience don’t come around every day. We’ve always said we want players that are going to make us better and John is will definitely do that along with elevating those around him too. A great addition to the squad on and off the ice, and we can’t wait to see him pull on the Lynx jersey.”
